We’re excited to celebrate Nisargkumar (Nisarg) Patel, who was recently featured by UMBC as Intern of the Week, a well-deserved recognition of his professionalism, technical skill, and impact at LASARRUS.
During his internship, Nisarg has been a key contributor to our WearME software efforts, supporting work that helps our team monitor respiratory and activity metrics for COPD research and validation. He has consistently taken on meaningful engineering challenges, improved reliability, and delivered thoughtful solutions that move product milestones forward.
Highlights from Nisarg’s contributions at LASARRUS
Improved user experience and stability: Nisarg delivered fixes to UI workflows and helped ensure a smoother experience for day-to-day use and testing.
Strengthened connectivity reliability: He has been actively improving sensor connection/disconnection behaviors to make the system more robust in real-world use.
Helped shape our patient app direction: Nisarg has been leading early evaluation of the best mobile framework approach for our upcoming patient-facing app, balancing developer velocity, Bluetooth support, and long-term maintainability.
A note from leadership
“Nisarg has been a great value to the team, an exceptional contributor who’s dependable, thoughtful, and fast-learning. We’re proud of his growth and grateful for the impact he’s made.”— Dr. Lloyd Emokpae, CEO & Co-Founder, LASARRUS
We also want to congratulate Nisarg on his graduation and the next stage of his career. We’re proud to continue working with him and look forward to what’s ahead, especially as we expand our patient-facing mobile experience.
Congratulations again, Nisarg!
